Christmas gifts: Cartoon families

Instead of buying regular Christmas gifts, this year I drew my family, my girlfriend's family and a friend and his girlfriend. After I scanned all of them, I printed them on thick paper so that they could be cut out and used as stand-ups. The final result you see at the bottom.

Row 1: My girlfriend and I
Row 2: My parents
Row 3: My brother and his girlfriend
Row 4: My girlfriend's parents
Row 5: My girlfriend's brother and his girlfriend
Row 6: A friend and his girlfriend

Commission: Photo alteration

As a wedding gift, I was asked to redraw a photo in cartoon style, but with a minor twist.

Outlines: Lu Lin
Nordic forest theme

This one is loooong overdue. I promised my buddy Lu to do a proper graff of his name I think about two years ago. For a lot of reasons I never got around to doing it, but now I finally found the time to start on it. It's also been almost a year since I worked on my last 2-pager, so I'm really happy to work on a new one of those as well.
Inks and colours should it done in about 1,5 month or so.

Commission: Cartoon family

A guy I know asked me to sketch a cartoon version of himself and his parents, based on a photo he sent me. Really fun commission to do.

Commission work: Finals

These are the nine commission pieces I made for a friend. She will use them to promote her ideas regarding a new series to potential publishers. Here's to hoping these make the road to finding a publisher a bit easier for her!

Sneak peak: Final commission piece

All nine pieces will be posted in a week or two after some editing, but I couldn't keep this from you in the meantime.

Commission work: Group image outlines

The (almost final) pencil outlines for a group image of the eight characters I have done for a friend. Not sure if I will ink and colour the entire image or not, but I will at least do the characters. I will post all the final works - characters and group image - after finishing this one and doing some final digital editing on all of them. Shouldn't be longer than two or three weeks.

Feels nice to be almost done with my first commissions.

Commission work: Character concept art

The last few weeks I've been working on a couple of commissions. I am creating eight characters for a script I've been given. I obviously can't tell anything about the script or the characters, but it's a lot of fun to do, especially since the characters are all so very different.
Here are some finished characters, as well as some work in progress. I'll post the final works in a month or so, when they're all done.

Swedish teacher (Drawing for Swedish class)

For a presentation for my Swedish class I decided to talk about the process of drawing - from the first pencil lines to the final drawing. I wanted to draw something that was related to the class to keep it interesting for everybody to listen to (and more importantly: watch), and decided to make our teacher into a superhero like I have done before with my brother. So I present to you: Svenskan!

If you're interested in seeing the PowerPoint slides, let me know. It's mostly pictures, so it shouldn't be hard to follow.

I've got a fan!

Because I currently don't have much time to draw, I have to settle for doodling when I need to pass some time. This week I was at a presentation about which I didn't really care too much, so that I took advantage of that time to practice a little. My fellow student sitting next to me saw me sketch this Spiderman and asked me if he could have it, because his 3-year old son is a big Spiderman fan. Today, he showed me this picture of his son loving it! Isn't that awesome?

Update:
I forgot the add the coolest part! When little Fazel got the drawing, he asked his dad if I had a son too. "No", his dad said, "Why do you ask?" "Because I would like to give his son one of my toys cars in return for the drawing."
It doesn't get much sweeter than that, now does it? Giving and sharing makes the world go 'round!
